The extended project aimed to show how to use positive and negative space in an art piece. It introduced how to use different measuring techniques to produce a scaled-down version of the source image. The extended project focuses on a nature-based theme using different leaves, flowers, and other natural objects.
This project was something quite out of my comfort zone. As this being my first real art assignment I've ever done, it was quite hectic. I think as I moved through the project, I learned to smooth out my strokes more, but leaving them sporadic enough to keep the natural form. I noticed that I learned how to use positive and negative space. While my piece is a bit bottom heavy, it seems that you can understand what each positive shape represents in the drawing. Conte was something interesting to use, pretty messy and caused for a mess among my negative space.
