The extended project introduced the concepts of line-quality and linear perspective. The piece formed a basic perspective using different 3D objects arranged in complex ways. Line quality got introduced to help simulate closer objects with darker lines, while objects further away are more shallow and faded.
I learned quite a bit from this project. Line quality plays a big part in how the drawing shows perspective and distance from one object to another. When drawing from front to back, you want darker, thicker lines and make them lighter and thinner as you move towards the back. The angle of lines also plays a huge role in how shapes move away from you. The lines concave more as they move away, simulating the line 'appearing farther' from you.
